At Ignis Sentinel Engineering, our shared mission is to drive efficiency and minimize costs without compromising quality. One impactful way to achieve this is by streamlining review cycles. Our approach focuses on empowering you with clear, concise, and comprehensive information to enhance the quality of your submittals.

By doing so, we aim to significantly reduce the back-and-forth exchanges, cut down the number of comments, and minimize revisions. This not only shortens cycle times but also accelerates project timelines, enabling you to stay on schedule and within budget. Together, we can create a more efficient, cost-effective workflow that benefits all stakeholders involved.

With that goal in mind, we are introducing our “Key Focus Areas” initiative, highlighting the most frequent and critical comments to help you proactively address them.

This week’s key focus area is Spacing Compliance:

For fire alarm drawings under NFPA, the most frequent comments are related to:

Smoke detector spacing: Not complying with NFPA 72-2019, Section 17.7.3.

Notification appliance coverage: Failing to meet requirements outlined in Table 18.5.5.5.1 and Figure 18.5.5.1.

For fire water monitor designs under SAES, common issues include:

Spacing: Non-compliance with Section 12.6.1 of SAES-B-017.

Hydraulic calculations: Failing to meet the minimum residual design pressure at design flow, as specified in Table 1.

By focusing on these areas, we can significantly improve the quality of submittals, reduce revisions, and keep projects on track. Let’s work together to address these challenges and achieve greater efficiency.
